Walking

The seafront promenade runs unbroken for kilometres and it is flat, shaded and genuinely pleasant. If you are staying on the strip and eating on the strip, you may never need anything else. Go inland or uphill and it stops being fun quickly.

The bus

€1.50 a ride, decent coverage along the coast in daylight, and effectively finished by mid-evening. It will not take you to Troodos, it will not take you to a wine village, and it will not take you to the airport at 4am.

Ride-hailing

Patchy. Fine in the city core at a busy hour, unreliable outside it, and non-existent when you most need it. Do not build a plan around it.

Taxis, used properly

Not for everything — for the things nothing else does. The airport run. The evening out. The day in the mountains. The luggage. Book them in advance at a fixed price and they stop being an expensive emergency and start being a sensible line in the budget.

Our full price list is public, which is the whole point.
